Plus, the fans are much less bitter.

Bitterness is simply the output of dissapointed fans who actually care about their team.

Or that they ran out of Old Style.

Well..color me irritated

What gives you the right to sit in judgment of Wrigley or its fans?

I wonder if they will sell out their home playoff games?

They will. The question is whether or not they are going to open up the Mount Davis section in CF and sell tickets out there. If they open that up, then they might not. Also, with the A's likely to start up on the road and have Games 3 and, if necessary, 4 at home, they will likely have home games on Friday/Saturday/Sunday instead of Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday like they did in 2002 and 2003.

OAKLAND -- The third deck at McAfee Coliseum, traditionally packed when the Yankees visit the A's, will be empty when the Bronx Bombers roll into town for the 2006 season opener Monday, April 3.

It'll be empty for the second and third games of the three-game series, too -- and for the 78 home dates that follow. Along with announcing their schedule for the upcoming season, the A's announced that they're closing the third deck, thus reducing the listed baseball capacity of the multi-use stadium the club shares with the NFL's Raiders from 44,073 to 34,179.

Pretty pathetic for a team that has won 90+ games 5 of the last 6 seasons

with a 102 and 103 win season in there

Oakland has 400,000 people, we don't need a stadium that holds 65,000 people.

The A's also wanted to get more advance sales so they could plan better, in the past, people knew they could walk up and get good seats, so that's what they did.

The A's need a new baseball-only stadium.

I was in Mount Davis for the 20th win in a row in 2002. That was one of the two best baseball games I've been at in terms of how great the fans were (and the other was a World Series game). Oakland fans just cannot be compared to Marlins fans.

I was at that game too and yeah, that was an unbelievable game. IIRC it was a Wednesday and my dad and a couple of his friends were planning on going to that game anyway ($1 hot dogs) and it just so happened to be the 20th win game. I was sitting in the third deck on the third base side. A ton of people left early so we moved down the the first level in the seventh inning. And what a finish. The people that stayed were stood and cheered for a solid 10 minutes when the dropped down the "20" banner in CF. Unreal.

They are not going to open mt. davis. I have a friend in the ticket office.

So what does that leave the capacity at? And if (knock on wood) the A's advanced to the ALCS/WS, would they open Mount Davis then? Just curious as to how many tickets could be available.
