geez, my team can do no wrong...70+ points today w/o a start...340+ points for the week, and i have four starts tomorrow. obviously, i couldn't have asked for much more than this for week 1.

Are you somehow ending up with 9 starts this week?

 

for some stupid reason clemens is pitching tomorrow on three days rest. i think i'll only have six (double starts from myers) next week.

I got the impression that he'll start one more, but tomorrow is the Astros' last home game of the season and they wanted him to start the home finale. Their last six games are all on the road.

of my 10 position players, 9 homered...7 had more than one homer. 5 of the 10 position players scored 28 points or more...all had over 15 points (led by andruw's 56). all my SP's had at least one win and one QS...and at least 24 points. i had two CG's (both against the lowly cubs...finally they did something right!). all my closers had two saves.

i take a 187.05 point lead into week 2. i may have six starts (assuming the phils haven't clinched the wild card by the last day), while tim looks to have eight.

no, that's two games. back in 2003, I changed the format for the final to include two weeks as one - as a result the entire schedule became two weeks per game (which is why I don't do that anymore. I am pretty certain 468 is a record for all-time.

yeah, i was being sarcastic...that really has to piss tim off. pretty lucky for me to have that kind of week during the championship.

Similarly, in fantasy football the championship usually coincides with the last week in the NFL season when teams already in the playoffs frequently rest their stars (especially those who are a bit banged up). Last year I beat the regular season champion to advance to the championship of the playoffs (which I unfortunately lost) because my opponent's quarterback was Peyton Manning, who played one meaningless series to keep his streak alive since the Colts had already clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
