steve stone was talking about this but in regards to hendry...and i think it means more on him

the last 3 years....over 300 mil spent on players!

11 games under .500 after yesterday for the 3 years

this is much more hednry's fault than dusty's- although there is plenty of blame to go around. a manager can not control who gets hurt but we have a gm that continually puts together a team based on certain players being healthy and certain players having stud years.

hendry continues to put a team on the field that is completely dependent on great pitching...and a pitching staff that is completely reliant on wood and prior being studs.

i certainly can understand 2004...i can forgive 2005...but then we do it again in 2006...there was no reason to do this again. there were many pitchers out there...there was a trade on the table...there were many offensive threats available that would have made us less dependent on pitchers..but our guy blew it....nearly everyone on here felt we needed at least one more starter, but not jimbo!

please let me sign up for a job where i can be this bad and still get extended....

seriously explain to me how you can take a team that was a game from the world series...completely tear it apart- we will have 1 position starter maybe from 2003 left, and maybe 1 pitcher. and now we are fighting to stay out of last in the central and the national league..not too mention we are within in shouting distance of kc....

that is the fault of our gm...

It's equal in terms of blame, neely.

Hendry: for putting together a 6th place team in the NL Central, together.

Baker: for giving up on the season when Derrek Lee went down to injury, a yr after giving up on the season when Nomar went down.

players: 10% for simply not playing to their abilities.

Dusty's just honoring his contract now. Nobody should be under any illusion that there will be actual winning taking place @ Wrigley. Those days are gone with the wind.

Hendry should have canned Dusty long, long ago. Harping on Dusty at this point is silly. Hendry's the dolt here. This is his ballclub, his choice to keep Dusty around when even a 1st grade kid can see he should have been gone.

You only give 10% of the blame on the players when they're not playing to their abilities?
