• The jump to Triple-A can be tough for some prospects, but that certainly has not been the case for outfielders Adam Lind and Matt Kemp or second baseman Eric Patterson.

...

Patterson, 23, collected hits in his first nine games for Iowa, went hitless for two games, and went 2-for-3 last night. In addition to hitting .386/.442/.477 at Triple-A, Patterson is also a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases.

Neither are pitching today, but oh well. The only Cubs question in yesterday's Callis chat (and it's a no-brainer answer):

Drew (FL): Pawelek or Veal?

SportsNation Jim Callis: (2:59 PM ET ) Donald Veal.

Ryan Bicondoa starting today for Daytona, it looks like - due to Ernesto - they're skipping Mark Holliman and Carlos Perez.

Chris Robinson, the catcher acquired for Neifi Perez, was the FSL Offensive Player of the Week last week (in his first week with Daytona).

FSL:

Daytona gives up a run in the top of the 7th and is now down 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th.

St. Lucie rained out, will play a DH tomorrow.

Palm Beach losing 3-0 to Jupiter in the 6th.

Remember, due to the uneven schedule in the FSL thanks to the rainouts the D-Cubs wouldn't make the playoffs if they tied Palm Beach because of the percentage points.

Jaxx down 1-0 after four innings. I refuse to root against this team, so naturally I hope we sweep these guys and end the year on a good note.

BTW, I hate the half season.. it is total BS

Agreed.

Bicondoa leaves after a strong game...8.1 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K. He leaves a man on who reached due to an error.

With 2 outs in the top of the 9th, Layden allows Bicondoa's baserunner to score on an RBI single. Daytona now down 2-0 as we go to the bottom of the 9th.

Worse, Palm Beach has tied their game at 3 after 6 innings.

Peoria up 5-1 after 5. Blackford: 5 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 2 K.

Boise opens up a 4-0 lead thanks to a 2-run HR from Matt Camp (his first pro HR). That's the score in the middle of the third inning. Renshaw: 3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K.
