Ok, real talk. Jozy Altidore at 18 > Agudelo. He's waaaaaaay too hyped.

He needs to get stronger. He's got far more technical ability but needs about 10lbs of muscle and a couple more years of learning.

He was out of his depth tonight.

The more I depressingly consider this game, the more I realize than Mexico's attacking corps is "holy-ish" good.

Also, Michael Bradley was responsible for 3 of their goals.

I posted this elsewhere earlier, but if Dos Santos ditches the sauce and finds a work ethic, we're [expletive].

Look at our pool and our U-21's...unless Boss pans out we're fucked regardless.

[expletive] Mexico and their fans. Wish we could draw better than 20% of the crowd on our home soil.

Well that was [expletive] miserable.

What a [expletive] tease last night. I check the score during the wedding and see the US is up 2-0, 10 minutes later 2-2! Do I even want to watch the game or just the highlights?

The U-17's advanced to the knockout stages. Guido is going to be a good one. Though this team needs to develop a little bit more after destroying the Czechs. I swear our youth teams show so much more flair that our senior team, where is this being lost?

Highlights wouldn't capture the totality of how good their attack was and how poor we were defensively.

Waking up this morning, I came to the conclusion that, as much as it sucks to lose, they are a much better team than we are, and that it was an immensely entertaining (if frustrating) game to watch. And we STILL had a chance to tie 3-3 go off the bar, and even at 4-2 if Bradley's shot at the open net goes it, we would have been set up for a colossal finish, as I think Mexico just completely bunkers if that happens.

I think they have the best attack we've faced in a long time. Wave after wave.

Which has gotten me to believe that we have to learn how to develop wave upon waves of attack. We simply won't have the defense for a couple of years to withstand that much pressure. We need to begin to dominate possession, attack, reset, and attack again. We can't simply rely and countering. Of course developing those sets of players is an issue. I know a large thought here is that Kreis is the man in waiting for this too.

Alright, the tears are dry, the cuts on my knuckles scabbed over and the ulcer has subsided, so let's get to some better business.

Onyewu to Sporting Lisbon, three Ligue 1 sides have eyes for Freddy and PSG and Hamburg want some Mikey.

Most excitingly:

Learning Dutch is gona be hard. Can I get the "how to" on Rosetta stone?

Edit - More.

Hope for the scourge that is Chicharito?

Marc Pelosi, u-17 Captain is wanted by Roma. Some other good stuff in there on Joseph Gyau being called up to the big squad for Hoffenheim and the chemistry he's shown with Ryan Babel.

That's some good news. Pelosi has looked impressive in the u-17. He had a great run on Saturday just didn't get much on the shot that was saved splitting two defenders.

My fiance's parents just moved to Amsterdam and she even used the live one on one tutoring on Dutch and its not easy. Good luck Jozy. Oh and I am going next summer when the Euro's kick off.

Hopefully Freddy's career is revitalized now.

According to Greg Seltzer, the Jozy thing is either Ajax or PSV. If so, booyah.

I wish more of our players spent a year or two in the Erdevisie

I would gladly take either one.

Some decent points, but if he expects any coach to not care about results, just building for the future, he's an idiot.

People need to acknowledge a few things.

First, there's no American better suited for the job right now than Bob. Bringing in a foreigner won't happen as long as Gulati is around.

Second, this game wasn't a harbinger of Mexican hegemony in CONCACAF. There were a lot of things we could have done to better the result and they had plenty of luck on their side. We have no depth. We've always known that. It's really apparent when we don't bring a full-strength squad to a tournament. Healthy Gooch, Chandler, healthy Dolo, healthy Charlie Davies etc, blah, blah, blah. It's not armageddon. We're still a good team.

Third, even if this is a new day for Mexico, it doesn't mean we're worse than we were. They're just better.

7 Mexican players just got sent home from Copa America for getting caught banging around with a bunch of hoooahhs.

Haha! The hookers robbed them, they reported the theft to the hotel and the hotel showed the cops. That's how they got caught.
