Montreal getting an MLS team. The league is determined to water itself down.

 

Are you kidding me? Montreal moving to MLS is an excellent thing, as is Portland coming in.

 

I'm real excited about Portland, they could easily have the best fan base of any city.

 

MLS needs those local rivalries. In 4 years you are going to have Philly/DC/RBNY/NER and TOR/CBUS/MTL and Portland/SSFC/Vancouver.

 

That's how you generate intense interest. MLS is building the right way, as opposed to just dumping teams in random spots like Atlanta, Miami, Phoenix and St Louis.

 

I find it interesting that the MLS is taking the opposite approach that the NHL did. There was a mass exodus out of Canada and into the sunbelt for hockey but the MLS is tapping into Canada and the northwest. It looks like a genius decision so far.

I figured they would romp but I didn't see eight goals.

 

Also, completely unsurprising that dbag Drogba was pissed that Lampard wouldn't let him take the first penalty.

Yeah, it was a pretty pathetic display by Drogba, but his drama in not unexpected.

 

This was a strange season for Chelsea and I am very excited they won the league. But I didn't expect them to rack up the offensive totals that they did. I guess the days off boring Chelsea are over (at least temporarily).

It was annoying to watch all game. I was hoping he wouldn't one, so of course he got three. Anelka's 2nd was very nice.

 

Rooney left too with a groin injury. Not so sure he will be 100% in a month with all the injuries the past 4 months for him.

Getting Sergio Aguero is a good start. But really, they need some good defensive youngsters.

He's overrated. If they have a chance to use the same money to get Torres or cover most of the cost, they should do it.

Very unusual situation. I'm curious to see how much money they spend this summer. I'm going to miss Joe Cole and his short shorts.

He's overrated. If they have a chance to use the same money to get Torres or cover most of the cost, they should do it.

 

Chelsea ought to be investing in their defense and some wingers before dropping coin on Aguero. He's a EPL bust waiting to happen.

So Bradley is going to announce his 28 man pre-WC camp roster in the next day or so. Thoughts:

 

-I'm going to be mildly annoyed if Beasley or Sacha are on the list.

 

-I will not be surprised if EJ is on it. His strike rate for Aris is better than I thought it was.

 

-I'm amused at the 11th hour love Bobby Convey is getting based on 5 games for SJ this season.

 

FWIW Ives seems to think Adu, Bedoya and Beasley will be invited as bubble midfielders and Buddle/Gomez/Ching/Casey will be battling for 2 open spots.

The thing about Charlie is that most of the optimism has been based on stuff he's said. He's not the most objective evaluator of where he is in his rehab, I'm sure. Oh well, I hope he's there.
