If Ramirez leaves for free agency Barrett may end up at third.

I'd appreciate it if you didnt swear at me like that......

Has anyone heard if he really likes Chicago? I just have this wierd feeling he's gone. Sorry about the cussing.

I think he likes Chicago. He probably liked it more when Alou & Sosa were here and when people weren't griping about him as much in the papers and on the radio. Rozner rips him a new one every time I hear him.

But I'm sure he's hearing that he can make scads of money in free agency. And I'm sure that other cities might be attractive as well.

I don't see how Hendry can possibly replace what would be lost if Aramis walks, given all the other holes. But that's part of the problem ... even with Aramis, I don't have much faith in the Cubs putting together a winning team next year, even in a bad NL. So why should Aramis hang around hoping that the organization can get its act together?

He's in his prime and he won't get a better chance to make big bucks like this again now that steroids are illegal so ya, I see him leaving and getting a chance to win.

Z never had it to begin with, imo. The strike zone was inconsistent and his stuff was decidedly below average.

He did pull that 66 MPH curve seemingly out of another dimension for a strikeout. That was pretty damn cool...

pagan in LF.

This is why Baker is paid the big bucks. You take out a hot hitter and leave in a 4-3 in CF. We all know that Pierre can pop one out to tie the game at any time unlike Murton who couldn't hit one out to save his life.

its not really a cubs game unless dusty double switches in pagan for murton. although tbf, he didnt do it for awhile.

They probably won the games he didn't make his autopilot double switch move.

Unfortunately I agree. Likely the reason why his agent built the ipt-out into his contract to begin with. I'd rather see him stay but I'm afraid of the $$$ he'll command. If signing him comes at the cost of signing Schimdt or Zito, I'd pass.

As long as Pierre is batting leadoff, it will never make sense to double switch him unless there have been multiple double switches before-you can debate the double switch in general, but Baker really wouldn't have been very smart if he had done a double switch and taken Pierre out in that spot.

What the hell, man? This team actually starts winning, and the last 2 Big Z starts are some of the few games they lose. What a bunch of jerks...they can't do anything right!

He'll look for $$ better then Wright. Is he worth $12M, considering the Cubs rotation issues?

wonder why they didnt race the mexican sausage tonite

He has been benched until next season per MLB rules on mascots. No, I am not kidding.

please elaborate....

I work designing MLB ornaments. The approval process is absolutely brutal. It's literally months longer than any other license. Real nice people working there though.

so can you send a friend a few Cub beer bottle coolers

:D

I would if I could but we don't make those.

The timing was bad but you're right...as long as Pierre is batting leadoff which is one of the problems to begin with. Baker makes such a crud lineup that he's trying to plug a huge leak with a pin.

For those of you keeping track, that's 8 blown saves for Isringhausen on the year.

Yet someone said on a thread that he should be in consideration for the Cy Young award.

Cy Young is the only pitcher in history to LOSE over 300 games, so Izzy should be given careful consideration.

By the way, there's a mass suicide watch at Viva El Birdos where the worlds' greatest baseball fans are pilloring Izzy, Carpenter, Pujols and the great Tony La Rue, who has never won a championship for the Birds.
