Nice yank by ARam. Also a nice job by Barrett giving that ump the buiz. What the heck is the point in issuing a warning if you don't follow up?

No, I like Barrett. He is a great hitter who gets that you can increase your value by walking. I just think he is a hack behind the dish. I wish the cubs would think creatively with him.

The problem with that is it would likely involve inserting Henry Blanco into the lineup.

Holy crap that was a shot.

Yeah, unless we went out and got a decent receiver who could hit a little bit. I wouldn't mind having Miller back. Or hell, even giving Soto a shot.

Dusty would have a stroke if he had to do that.

All the more reason to do it. I refuse to acknowledge that the franchise could be dumb enough to bring Dusty back.

It is the Cubs after all. 100 years of failure can't be done just by accident.

97 years. 1906-08 were pretty good. Then it all went to hell.

shouldnt bush be tossed by now? werent warnings issued?

That recent HBP was unintentional, imo.

I didnt think that mattered anymore once warnings were issued....

It still matters. In Barrett's case, it seemed like he almost turned into it and the pitch looked more like a mistake than anything else. If it were a bit more borderline, then I think Bush would have been tossed.

I'm alll for Barrett as a DH, alas until the NL converts I'd rather have him behind the plate until Soto can hit like he can...

If Ramirez leaves for free agency Barrett may end up at third.

God we can't really let Aram go. We pretty much have to cave to his demands.

I guess I was counting to 2009 and you're right 1906-08 were the salad years indeed.

wonder why they didnt race the mexican sausage tonite

He has been benched until next season per MLB rules on mascots. No, I am not kidding.

Did Milwaukee already get rid of the chorizo? I didn't see it in that replay of the race (not that I care really).

I thought it was just a 1 time thing

If you think Barrett is poor defensively at catcher, wait until you see him at third.

Of course we all know David Bell will be the future Cub third baseman if Aramis leaves. I'm not hoping that happens, just preparing myself for the eventuality.

Hell at that point I will convert to the Royals.

please elaborate....

It's something about the notice that MLB requires before introducing a new mascot. Apparently you can't add a mascot just on a whim, so they supposedly sent him down to the minors for some work (at least that was the Brewers explanation on it), and they will bring him back at the start of next season.
