Williamson's departure left them at 39. I'd like to see Fontenot given a shot, but the commitment to Izturis/Perez/Cedeno seems to be leaving him and Theriot on the outside looking in.

The first that jumps into my mind is Fox because I know he actually was in danger of being picked last year. Beyond that, I think Gallagher and Patterson.

I'm not sure there is anyone else noticable.

Nope, he was never rostered to my knowledge.

 

Wasn't Fontenot on the roster when he came over in the Sosa trade? I could swear he and Crouthers were on the Orioles' 40 man roster.

I think the Cubs took Fotenot off the 40man this past offseason. No one claimed him.

Nope, he was never rostered to my knowledge.

 

Well he was rostered at the beginning of the season because he was up with the big club. He was DFA'd to take him off the 40 man and wasn't claimed.

He had to have been to play for the Cubs this year.

I count about 19 players worthy of a 40-man roster. The Cubs SHOULD add 21 more players to the roster.

As long as it's definite (as opposed to merely probable) that he's out for the rest of the year they definitely could.
