...And yes to my suprise he was acually in the office (and working). I just wanted to give him some suggestions with regards to the trade deadline, I ended up holding back some of my comments because his secretary said he was busy. It was approximately 2:00pm (CST) when I called, so I would imagine he was really working the phones. His secretary said that all the Cub scouts were there with him, in his office.

He should have called in some Girl Scouts to get some real advice because the Cub Scouts blew it.

That's just lame. You want to rip on a guy because you think he's a lousy GM, be my guest. But making fun of his weight is a cheap shot..

588-2300

Someone told me that's the #1 known number in Chicagoland behind 911.

At first, I thought it was ridiculous, but then I got to thinking... it's probably accurate.

Maybe 773-202-LUNA is second?

If you called the Cubs and said in a confident voice "Jim Hendry's office, please", I'm sure the operator would transfer you to his assistant (or one of his assistants) and that person would stop you right there as soon as you said who you were...

That would be one way to figure out if there was a prospect package in play for Maddux or not.

Probably better to chose a name that didn't work for the Cubs. Coletti might know the secretaries.
