Sounds like the only semi-intelligent thing he said was that he caused some of the problems on the current team. I would like for him to make a detailed list of the mess he has made, and read it aloud in his next press conference.

- Izturis is a "great, great player".

Wrong

- We have problems that I caused.

Right

- Still very optimistic about Prior. He's not injured. He's tough enough (Salisbury questioned whether he can pitch through "aches and pains"). The oblique thing came out of nowhere.

Yeah...liek every other weekly "freak" injury he's had...give me a break

Use the rest of the season to see what Marmol, Marshall and Hill can do, "and a few other guys".

I'm happy with this statement, lets see what they got. I would have died watching Rusch go out there. Why is Guzman in the doghouse?

- We cannot win next year with the rotation as it is now. We will address it. We won't go into next season "hoping this guy is healthy, hoping that guy is healthy."

about time...but I'll believe it when I see it. Its like the bears, a healthy rex grossman is an upgrade. But HE'S NEVER HEALTHY!!!

- I have a strong lean towards keeping Pierre. Had a few convos with his agents; we will talk again at end of season or shortly thereafter. There's not a harder worker anywhere.

I don't mind Pierre at all personally, I think there are much bigger problems on this team.

I wish Dusty were man enough to make a statement like that.

How much of a man does it make Hendry for him to make that statement, and then continue his non-OBP, fast, toolsy player philosophy that has utterly failed this year?

Jimbo's an incompetent dumbass, but I respect him for taking some responsibility for his mistakes.

Is responsibility simply apologizing? I guess I'm not impressed until he fixes those mistakes...and I've not seen any signs that is close to happening.

I think he's taking some responsibility for counting on injured pitchers. I'm afraid he'll over-compensate by overpaying a couple of mediocre starters with bad peripherals.

I really think Ronny is not going to be here next season. Call it a hunch, but it makes a lot of sense when you really think about it.

Which is exactly why Hendry won't do it.

No matter what that guy says, it's just talk. He doesn't give a crap about OBP. Even when we didn't suck so bad, we'd be at the bottom of the league in walks and near the bottom of the league in runs scored, even if we managed to hit homers and hit for decent average. That's Jimbo's fault. Caesar Isturis is just another one of those guys.

I don't care about how he judges talent. You win some and lose some when you're trying to guess how people are going to turn out. But Hendry's philosophy seems to be all wrong.
