Don't worry, you'll probably get your wish. He'll be traded this week in an act of desperation (probably to the Giants) and the Cubs will get bupkis in return - something like a 25 year old single A reliever and a player to be named later who'll end up being another toolsy outfielder with speed.

And for all Walker's fault he's third in OBP for this team, behind only Lee and Barrett.

Yeah, for a team struggling in OBP, let's get rid of Walker. Only a genius could come up with that idea.

I don't have a problem trading him since he'll be a FA and our GM isn't bright enough to keep him around, but anyone who thinks this team's struggles have much if anything to do with Walker is deluding himself.

We've all had a little bit of time to cool down, so I'm going to unlock this thread. I think it's imporant that all opinions, popular or not, be allowed to be expressed, and discussed with some reasonable civility. So lets try to do that here, ok?

DFA Walker his mother wears combat boots.

Just kidding. I will miss him when he goes. Very productive player. Overshadowed in his poor night is the fact that in the 1st and 2nd inning he made sure he pulled the ball to make sure Pierre got to 3rd.

I do understand besides OBP Walker doesnt provide a lot, however these players have everything Walker has except OBP

Pierre, Perez, Cedeno, Pagan, Bynum, Mabry. Of these guys only Perez is a good defensive player. I admit Walker hasnt been stellar since early in the season but he is far from the worst player on this team. This isnt even accounting for the pitchers.

I have to somewhat disagree with the bolded part. Although Walker hasn't really hit for much power this season, he does have more power than Pierre, Perez, and Cedeno. It's too early to tell just how much power Pagan and Bynum will hit for at the big league level, so I won't compare them to him. Mabry is comparable to Walker power-wise.
