CSN+Y all the way!!

In their short, short time together they produced some of the smoothest sounding and most beautiful tunes ever released.

I'm going to see them in August. Their set list right now includes 2 sets and 2 encores for a total of 35+ songs!

Were CSN+Y really rock music?

Iron Maiden is a fantastic group, and one of the most underappreciated of all time. I'm sure they'll get beat here, but they get my vote.

S/T

Killers

Number of the Beast

Piece of Mind

Powerslave

Somewhere in Time

7th Son of a 7th Son

That's a pretty impressive discography over a long period of time.

I'm a HUGE fan of CSN+Y...masters of harmony, and I did vote for them...but, I'd really consider them more Folk than rock, similar to Simon and Garfunkel.

it's a valid point, but I had to get Neil Young in here somewhere, and I like CSNY better than Crazy Horse or Buffalo Springfield

It's getting to the point where I am no fun anymore, I am sorry.

Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud, ‘I am lonely.'

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard.

I love that song. One of my favorites of all-time.

They weren't rock though.

Some of Young's solo work was. Still, not fair to start killing off rock bands with folk acts because one of the members also had a great solo career in rock.

Maiden's gettin' jobbed. No other view is possible 8)

Is Bob Dylan being considered folk? If so, that's fine, but if you're considering him to be rock, his omission from this tourney is a travesty.

I would most def consider Dylan a folk artist. Second, this tourney is for bands. Of course, Dylan did have a great back up band, "The Band". who had their own critical success apart from Dylan. But I consider Dylan a solo folk singer.

i don't know why, maybe the time of the night, or the fact that i'm feeling happy vibes fromt his thread, but that comment had me laughing for a good 10 minutes.

There are no solo acts in the tourney, which explains Dylan's absence. Given the rest of the list, I'm quite confident Derwood wouldn't have excluded Dylan.

I agree, but my favorite quote from that song is just a bit after what you quoted:

Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now

I am not leaving

Oh, and I voted assuming that CSNY included the work by CSN (like Suite: Judy Blue Eyes). It wouldn't change my vote in this particular poll, but it could in the future.
