The fact that this poll is this close (even after only 11 votes) is disheartening.......

 

IMO, after the usual suspects (Beatles, Stones, etc), the Clash may be one of the best bands ever. Very sad NSBB, very sad. :(

London Calling was a terrible album for as much hype as it got. All their earlier stuff was so much better. Joe Strummer was a god amongst men.

If you've actually listened to more than 2 of their songs than you might have the right to say that, but thats clearly not the case since you wouldnt be saying that if you had heard most of the London Calling LP.

"Should I Stay or Should I Go?" is a pretty dumb song though.

 

This song is one of the reasons they broke up. They were going (Joe Strummer and Mick Jones) in different directions and this song pretty much said what happened. Joe fired Mick from the band so they could go back to their roots and sadly it never really worked out for either after the breakup.

Never got into the Clash thing.

 

Saw Alice in Chains live-----thought they were quite good, especially for a band of supposed "slackers." Tight sound, good energy.

 

Good stuff. I'll take the minority stance----Alice in Chains gets my vote.
