The most interesting All-Star game commences this afternoon at 3PM when the World Team, managed by Fergie Jenkins, takes on the US Team, managed by Gary Carter.

Full Futures Game Rosters are here. Two Cubs prospects were named to teams -- Eric Patterson to the US Team and Jae Kuk Ryu to the World Team -- but Ryu will not appear due to a sprained ankle.

It's the XM Futures Game, so it's presumably on XM, but I couldn't find which channel (I'm not an XM subscriber ... until Tuesday when I get my new car!). ETA: XM 176 -- Thanks, Yeti!

Humberto Sanchez (Detroit) (5-1, 2.15ERA, 31Ks/20BBs, 37.2 IPs in AAA). Sanchez was a 31st round pick (927th overall) of the 2001 draft. He is 23 years old.

Homer Bailey (Cincinnati) was tentatively chosen as the second U.S. pitcher to enter the game, followed by Gio Gonzalez (Philadelphia) and Phil Hughes (New York Yankees). Sean Smith (Cleveland) was slated to face at least one batter, while Nick Adenhart (Los Angeles Angels), Eric Hurley (Texas) and Nick Pereira (San Francisco) will split time leading up to Sharpless and Lindstrom.

I haven't seen starting lineups posted anywhere.

GO EPATT!!!

Thanks! I pick it up on Tuesday. I'm excited. My current car is an '89 Honda and is on its last legs. Hope the new one will last as long.

'06 Honda Element - it comes with an xm-ready radio and a free 3-month subscription, so I'll finally be able to check out what all the xm-ers have been raving about.

I've been spoiled not having a car payment for so long that I've been in sticker shock for a few weeks.

And Homer Bailey pitching with a bleeding blister gives up a run in the 2nd.

Nope, I wish it were. I looked at a few hybrids, if I had gone with another sedan/coupe type car, I probably would have gotten one.

I asked to test-drive an Insight at a couple of places and was actually told that I had a better chance of seeing a UFO than an Insight. That may have just been NW Indiana short-sightedness at work. A friend of mine has a Prius, which she loves.

Hopefully he'll get in before long.

Big hit for Kottaras. Too bad the guys in the booth didn't make it a point to check name pronunciations before the game began.

How can you butcher Maybin's name? There is no R in there.

I don't expect anything resembling quality from ESPN announcers.

One Yankees prospect nearly takes the other's head off.

I had being telling my dad, a huge yankee fan, how great Hughes is. I better be quiet for a little while still. I thought he might be able to help them this year, now I am doubting it.

Hughes is a year away. Assuming health, he'll pitch many more innings this season than he has in his professional career. With a guy like him (especially considering his injury history), the Yankees should take it easy with him. They can more easily monitor his pitch counts in the minors. If he gets called up, they'll be tempted to overuse him and tax his arm for a pennant run.

Holy crap Martinez is a whale.

He resembles Pedro Martinez, but just a bigger.

He may have ate Pedro. I am slowly becoming a Royals fan.
