Interesting read, thanks. I'm shocked Veal would be top-3 worthy considering his control problems and the number of flyouts he has surrendered.

Yeah I am going to ask Goldstein about that for Veal, and especially for Sean Doolittle in his next chat.

Daytona's gun is a tick fast; I remember that Gallagher was clocked at 100-101 when he was down there.

I'm 99% sure that was on the road.

Correct you are sir.

Is that David Price in your avatar?

WT up 5-1 in the middle of the 5th; Gallagher is struggling with his control. Gallagher: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 4/6.

Daytona still tied at 1 after 7.

Peoria is up 5-0 in the middle of the 6th. Yepez: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1/3

DJaxxFan is at the DJaxx game ( :) ) and reports that both benches have ... expressed some concern to the home plate ump over the strike zone. Pat Listach wasn't pleased with the 4th inning Braves run because the runner seemed to miss 3B by a wide margin. Gallagher walking too many, but continuing to elude trouble with well-timed double plays and Ks.

Yeah, I had to give up on the game. It was pretty brutal. :(

I tried to tune in when I got home, but it kept dying out on me.

Eric has had a solid night tonight with some very impressive hitting. His RBI in the first was nothing short of a professional AB. Walker's triple in the first was hilarious. Nothing like watching a guy get to third standing before the other team gets the ball back to the infield. The Braves have had some troubles with the Jaxx this season. The Jaxx are 10-4 vs the Braves entering tonight.

Since I know that Chris Walker checks out the site, I'll add that he is the man. That is all.

You can be the man too. I took several pictures of Sean in his Jaxx uniform tonight. I'll try to post them soon.

I'd like to add that I am very impressed with Jake Fox. He communicates very well with the pitchers when necessary.

Iowa wound up losing 6-4. The two homers by Hoffpauir, the homer by Pie, and a homer by Fontenot were the only runs for Iowa tonight. Walrond went 5 giving up 7 hits, 4 runs, 4 BB's, and had 4 K's. Shipman then pitched 1 and a third allowing 2 hits and a walk, no runs, and striking out 1. Kerry Ligtenberg took the loss as he went an inning and two third's and allowed one hit, which was a solo homer, and had 3 K's. Jerome Williams pitched the 9th and also allowed a solo homer as well as striking out one. Montanez, Soto, Restovich, and one of Fontenot's two hits (the other being a solo homer) were singles.

So have we given up on Williams as a starter? He's not even starting for Iowa anymore as he is just a spot starter there. He has been getting most of his action in the bullpen lately. I'm not quite sure if I understand putting a spot-starter in the Major League level and still having him not start consistantly at Triple A.

The Hawks don't get swept and win their first game of the season, 7-3, thanks to a huge game from my boy, DJ Lewis.

Jeff Samardzija has been cleared to pitch 2 innings on Tuesday:

BoiseHawks.com"]Right-handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija will make his professional debut Tuesday, June 27 at Salem-Keizer. It's unclear at this point whether or not he'll start the game. Regardless, he will get 2 innings of work against the Volcanoes.

Quakers, if you go, please tell us how he looks!

EDIT: Oneri indicates it will be a start:

Idaho Statesman"]"As long as he's OK with everything, he'll probably throw sometime within the next week — he'll make his first start,'' said Oneri Fleita, the Cubs' director of player development.

Jake Fox is confirmed for a Q & A!

Awesome!

I told him that he has a big following at NSBB. We had better not disappoint!
