I take offense to changing the game time from 11:20 PT to 1:20 CT. Just because the Cubs play in that time zone doesn't mean that the game time has to show that. I figured I would mix it up. :D

 

I'm assuming you're one of my long lost chirruns and were being a thoughtful child by misleading me as to the game start time so I would miss the game and have an enjoyable day. Thanks. If the games not on at 11:20 I'll assume its' been canceled due to lack of interest or that the Cubs conceded to spare everyone the misery of wasting an otherwise fine Sunday afternoon.

I think it is probably still the back thing that is keeping him out. Which brings up an interesting quesiton. Can players retroactively serve their suspensions?

Last year, Blanco caught Prior in 22 out of 27 starts.

 

edit: His ERA pitching to Blanco was 3.65, pitching to Barret 3.77.

Exactly. This is just absurd. Doesn't matter if Walker is 0 for the last two weeks, he's still the best hitter of all our 2B (and by a pretty wide margin).

That's the fallacy. Todd Walker has a .348 career OBP. He's clearly the best 2b we have on the team. Over the long term, he's the guy that has to get the overwhleming majority of the bats. But baseball is still a game played by people who go into hot streaks and cold streaks over the course of a season. Walker's not a coin that flip and always has a .348 chance of getting on base. It just doesn't work that way. When any player goes into an extended slump like Walker is right now, he's not .348 bet to get on base TODAY.

Fred, that doesn't make sense. When do you know when Walker breaks out of it? I'd play the best player over the season unless Neifi's really hot for a good stretch of time (.313/.294/.563 in 16 ABs isn't enough ABs for me).
