Len "Cubs get a break". .. .

Um. . . does it 7#<#*% matter?

This is why I am really starting to hate the TV broadcasters.

I know they are trying to ingratiate themselves with Cub fans, but you are not going to win them over by being all rah-rah when the team is playing atrociously. Or maybe they are just worried about keeping their jobs, which is a sad commentary on the people that run this team.

Holy crap, Len is taking Hendry's "low RISP" argument to the trash can!!!

What's he saying?

To paraphrase:

*When looking at numbers, even with low RISP, if you get enough runners on base, you can drive them in

*Cubs need to more patient and work counts

*If the Cubs improve OBP, they will score more runs, you can be good at RISP but bad at OBP and not score many runs

But then Brenly came back and played devil's advocate.

....and some people want him to be the new Cub manager. He is far too Dustyish for my liking.

I'm not sure I agree. He may have just been playing devil's advocate, as they often do on baseball talk shows.

Is this yet another new low?

At a certain point once I've realized we've lost a game (sixth inning today), I almost happy to be getting blown out like this. Certainly makes a bad case for keeping the coaches (sans Spiers) around.
