Houston Astros ace Roy Oswalt was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 30 on Tuesday.

 

Oswalt, 5-3 with a 3.11 ERA, has been diagnosed with a mid-back strain on the left side and is scheduled to return on June 14.

I wonder if he's been hiding this injury for much of the year, and if so whether it will heal as fast as the Astros seem to think.

Yeah, but its about time Oswalt got injured.... Alot of experts thought he would, but that was because he had thrown 200 plus innings per year for some time now! :shock:

that's pretty ridiculous. Maddux has been due for an injury since 1987 (I'm counting 2002, a season in which he through 199.1 innings).

Oswalt does throw mid 90's. Not sure how much that factors in but I would think it would put more stress on his arm as opposed to Maddux's. I do see your point though.

This makes me cry. I had Oswalt and D-Lee on my fantasy team. Good thing it's a keeper league, but I'm not please with how it's affecting my season this season.
