Just hang on a little longer... Then, when the Pittsburgh Pirates finally overtake the cubs, and the cubs fall to LAST PLACE in the 6-team Central: ANNOUNCE BAKER'S EXTENSION THEN!!!

Next week at this time the Cubs could be in last place and Dusty given his well deserved extension. Pittsburg has won 4 in a row and plays SD at home for 3. SD has cooled off and not playing like they did against the Cubs. Then they play at Colorado.

 

The Cubs play 3 at StL and 3? at Houston! Unless Nevin comes in and contributes right away and the pitching holds up, it would be no surprise! :oops:

The Cubs will probably sweep the Cardinals again. Then the extension will be Dusty's. Then it's back to losing 20 of the next 24.
