Iowa wins 8-7. The I-Cubs overcame a 5-0 deficit and then a 7-6 deficit to win. Soto and Deardorff each had 4 hits and Deardorff had 4 RBI's. Augie was 1 for 1 with 2 RBI's and 2 walks. Restovich hit another homer today as well.

Baez started and didn't pitch particularly well. He gave up 5 earned runs in 3 1/3 IP with 2 BB's and 3 K's. He also allowed 3 HR's. Williams came in for relief and in 3 IP, he gave up 4 hits, 2 runs (0 earned), and 3 K's. Watson improved to 3-0 as he pitched 1 1/3 IP of scoreless relief and Kerry Ligtenberg got his 2nd save as he pitched 1 1/3 IP of scoreless relief.

Peoria is up 4-0 in the 8th and Daytona is scoreless in the 4th.

SP T. Blackford 6 scoreless, 2 H, 1/5 K/BB, 11-6 GO-FO

I was at the game.. Blackford's two hits were both playable. the first was a sure base hit up the middle that Johnston made a great play on but threw the ball away throwing to first. The second took a bad hop just over the 3rd baseman's glove. 2 of the 5 walks came to start the 7th inning and were th only two guys he faced.

Looking over the stats from the program, and their place in the standings Clinton isn't a very good team, but I though Blackford looked pretty good out there. Clinton also commited 5 error and the scab umps were pretty bad, one got hit with a ground ball and had no idea what to do and eventually called the batter out. I'm not sure if he was calling him out for hitting him or because he was thrown out at first... the reason he was able to be thrown out at first is because the Ump threw up his hands as to call time out so the batter slowed down.

Todd Blackford's rise continues. 4-1, 4.25 ERA. The WHIP is still less than great, but if he keeps pitching like he has, some of his numbers will soon be rivaling those of the Don, and Todd is 9 months younger.

How about a promotion for Chirinos?

And wtg EPatt

Yeah, he's shown that he shouldn't have been demoted.

I didn't notice that Salas was blocking him at Daytona, I was under the impression that Spears was the guy manning 2B. Regardless though, Robby can play all over the IF, he should be getting at bats in Daytona even if they're a little more scarce than in low A.
