Best case scenario is, I wake up to discover it's still 2003, I fell asleep during game 6 and had this nightmare, and I regain consciousness just in time to see AGONE field the DP ball perfectly to bail Prior out of trouble.

How about a manager who plays young guys, doesn't think walks clog the bases for guys who can run, and someone who knows how to keep his pitcher healthy.

??

murton, cedeno, hill, guzman, marshall and williams have gotten a chance to play.

How about Pie?

no reason to call him up and have patterson part II. he doesn't need to be infected by this sick bunch anyways. keep him in iowa.

Can we outsource his development to another team's minor league system? That would be much better. Iowa's record of producing position talent isn't exactly awe-inspiring.

The Trib makes a lot more off the Cubs than just park revenue. They've got to make a killing on merchandise, plus Cubs games keeping cable systems from dropping WGN from their lineup.

Pretty good point. However, if they keep pushing more & more games to off-color local jobbies like CLTV and CSN+, you might start seeing cable carriers go "we already have a WB channel, cya."

The Chicago Cubs = WGN

If you have to pre-empt Gilmore Girls for a game, oh well. And I LIKE Gilmore Girls.

What?

Forget it. But our manager thinks walks clog the bases for guys who can run. And he also has a huge man-crush on Niefi Perez.

milton bradley???????

he's only played 21 games this year, and why did the dodgers need nolasco and pinto over ethier? they had lowe, penny, seo, perez and tomko and billingsly is supposed to be great.

Yes, he has only played 21 games this year. But, that's why you have Lofton, Murton and Patterson. DEPTH!

If we're going to speak in hindsight, however, in only 21 games Bradley has 3 more home runs than Pierre, an OBP that's 100 points higher than Pierre, 4x as many RBI and he costs half the price Pierre does. And, he plays in a pitchers park compared to Pierre playing regularly in what is supposed to be a hitters park.

The Dodgers also had Drew, Lofton, Cruz, Repko, Ledee in the OF. Why would they need Ethier? Because the Dodgers are smart. They understand the importance of depth.
