I honestly have no idea how many different ways we can freakin lose. Nothing can get this team motivated. They could watch a piss ant eat a bale of hay and still be uninspired. I mean, So far we have:

-Gotten Kerry Wood back. Nothing.

-Punched the biggest prick in baseball in the face. Nope

-Come from behind win against the world champs. Nadda.

We cant freakin win. Why?

Dusty is a tool

We cant pitch well

We cant friggin score

Our lineup blows

I keep telling myself we have to get better sometime soon. We cant stay THIS bad for so long. But every day, the cubs find a new and creative way to prove me wrong.

Hendry is one of the worst GM's in baseball. You can't win games with this bad of a GM running the show. Terrible management and coaching with a terrible team will not lead to wins.

I wish the Cubs would let us run the team. We could turn this around in one off season.

Its frightening when you see a team not only got blown away, but also snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Bad teams find ways to lose. This is a bad team. If they were playing all of their AAA and AA guys like the Fish, I might be able to live with it, but they are mostly old.

This is getting ridiculous. THe simple fact that Baker hasn't been fired yet is disturbing. I don't care what kind of winning streak the CUbs go on, this organization is spitting in our faces by resigning this has been manager. Hendry is an imbecile who has no clue how to be a successfull GM. He is clueless and so it this pathetic team!! We have stooped to new level folks and this madness has to stop.

With two out, bottom of the ninth, my soon-to-be nine-year-old daughter says, "We're winning. We're gonna win!" I told her it was the Cubs and that there was still one more out. Two seconds later, it happened. Then she asked if she could turn the channel. OF COURSE YOU CAN ... FOR THE REST OF TEH SUMMER!

I've had it ....

Seriously, WHAT does it take for this team to win

Clearly...a miracle.

For some of the younger fans...welcome to the mid to late 70's where there was no hope in the present and very little for the future.

Just out of curiosity, what would everyone do (beside the obvious firings and releases).

You first, what are the "obvious" firings and releases? We got to know what you think the obvious ones are so we don't name those. :D

I could even live with it if I knew we were in some kind of "rebuilding" mode, but I don't see any hope of that either. In addition to fielding a really lousy team, we have to hear how Hendry and Baker are in line to be signed to extensions and you get this sick feeling in your mind that Pierre will be resigned.

This is just a really bad organization right now - as someone else said, this reminds me too terribly much of the mid 70's teams that were fielded with has beens and wanna be's.

I'm thoroughly disgusted.

AGREED. We've drained Iowa of all it's mediocrity, I'm afraid, and no signs of rebuilding on the horizon. That's the saddest part of all.

Setting aside Baker for the moment...I really see no way that Pierre can be resigned...he has been a total and complete failure....(not that he's alone in that)...he's got no arm, doesn't get on base, and is playing worse than Patterson even thought of. I'd say Pie, but I'm hesitant to bring him up and let Dude and the gang ruin him too...

oh, there's more draining to do... Hendry is now in a position to have to "fix" things. he'll have to go out and get "proven vets" and he'll trade away ANY talent we have waiting to get them.

Dusty knows a lot of "proven vets" His boys are all over the league...

We haven't seen the last Pierre or Perez or whoever else Dusty has stuffed away somewhere ready to get paid millions to spout off to the Media how great Dusty is...

It already doesn't bother me when the Cubs lose any more... I'm closer than I've ever been to actively pulling against them...

Beer sales are probably up though...

Dude, and the gang? I agree though, I don't want any of the young players being mentored by this coaching staff.

For this team to win, a majority of Cub fans to take back every bad thing they've said about the team and start saying positive hopeful things to replace all the curse talk. what you say is what you get.

I would say that Dusty, Neifi, Bynum, Hendry, and Rusch are all obvious.
