If this continues for the rest of the season (Murtons inability to hit righties) then he should be platooned with Jones next year. Then sign Carlos Lee for Left =P~

Milwaukee is currently working on Lee's extension.

Murton shouldn't be benched against righties or put in a platoon. He's 24, this is his first full year in the majors, and we should look at him as a player in development instead of someone playing up to his full potential. Give him the PA's against righties to let him improve that part of his game.

He isn't used in a platoon situation. He has almost 100 plate appearances against right handers. From a quick count he's started 31 of 36 games, and saw at least 1 at bat in 3 others. So he's played in every game but 2. He is struggling as is the team, so there is nothing wrong with giving him a couple of days off.

Rational statements like that aren't appreciated around here!

you're right, it's much more rational to put bynum in left.

Playing time in left:

Murton 34g 127pa

Hairston 3g 6pa

Bynum 3g 6 pa

Mabry 2g 4pa

Restovich 1g 2pa

Pagan 2g 1 pa

Macias 0g 0pa (It's after 5/15 so we can resign him... te he)

So Murtton gets 87% of the playing time, and is on a pace to have 576 plate appearances and we have a thread to complain about it?

The statement was a reaction to a previous post that stated how Murton should be used, not how he is used now.

It wasn't a rip on other posters.

People in general get too emotional when things don't go well.

For the love of god, how can Dusty continually be giving one of our (few) consistent hitters days off? Aside from the fact the Cubs have had numerous off days to start the season, he is only 24. Fatigue should not be a factor this early in the season especially when it is that young. Furthermore taking one of your better players out of the lineup in the midst of a hot streak of offensive futility is mindboggling to say the least.

If his reason for doing so rests solely on the notion of getting more of his "boys" playing time then I am utterly sickened. It's kinda hard to win when your best players are sitting on the bench, especially when the team sucks to begin with.

Dust for brains, i woke up today hoping to turn on ESPN news and finding out the POS has been fired
