2) Contreras is scheduled to come off the DL next week on the 20th against the Cubs. Can I keep him on the DL the entire week? Can I wait until I am certain that he is coming off the DL before I put him in my line-up?

 

Yep, you have to take McCarthy out of your pen.

You can wait until he is officially removed from the DL to activate Contreras. But once he is off the DL, he has to be moved off of yours.

 

I should have worded my question differently. McCarthy is taking Contreras's place. McCarthy has a two start week unless, Contreras comes back and takes McCarthy's spot. So since I am not gaining a start, I can start McCarthy this week and he gets two starts or Contreras comes back and I get one start from McCarthy and one from Contreras right??

actually, with TB allowed you will lose an additional 3.75 so konerko needs 8 or 9 to catch up. basically a three run homer would do it at this point. frickin' thome takes too many runners off the bases for konerko.

I'm on a streak of playing GHS, Buddiga, Harry's Budcrew, Quakers and Lynx. That's pretty harsh.

 

I'm glad I'm getting Woody back. Now I just need Sheff back, Liriano in the rotation and I'll be set. :D

sort of a side question, but how effective do you think Wood will be? I have my doubts that he will be super effective this summer. If it makes you feel better Tim, I'm third in the league in points and 3-3 - I don't know how this schedule turned out this way.

Yeah, 63+ pts in the last day helps. Still alittle too close for comfort. It was a great match-up though, I enjoyed it.

I don't know how effective Kerry will be. People react to that surgery very differently. But I'm pretty sure he'll be better than Cain has been so far!

i was not particularly impressed by wood friday night. it was cold as [expletive] out there, but his velocity was down, and he was far from overwhelming. had it not been 40 degrees w/ the wind blowing in, he probably would have given up a 2 run homer in the first to shealy. i'm not getting my hopes up too high for him. thankfully, the team has done a good job of keeping my expectations down.

How's Pie looking.......... It figures, I move down to Mississippi after being in Iowa for a couple years and Pie goes to Iowa.

i just got done w/ school on friday, so i've only been to one game. he ripped a shot down the 1b line on friday night, but got gunned trying to stretch it into a triple. he's got quite the arm. he almost threw out a guy trying to score from second on a basehit w/ an absolutely amazing throw. the baserunner didn't think it was going to be close enough to slide, and he about got embarrassed.

Contreras's return is not certain from what I have read, but likely. So I am assuming that I can use McCarthy (and possibly a healthy Contreras) as stated above until someone tells me otherwise.

 

I will have a 9-7 advantage in starts over Raw next week, but Josh Johnson and McCarthy will be risky.

Looks like he's on about a 50 walk pace as well. The lack of power in the PCL (in terms of homeruns) is a little discouraging but perhaps that will come. I see Patterson is holding up pretty well with the double promotion - that's a good sign. And Montanez seems to have finally turned the corner. What else do I need to know about the minors?

Sweet! I've got a few contractual agreement down here in Mississippi w/ my construction company, but my wife and I are debating on coming back north. I don't know if I'll go to Iowa, or Illinois.

 

I found an awesome house just north of Chicago in Wisconsin. Bad thing is, it's in Wisconsin. If I move there, am I automatically a cheese head, or do I get a pass because I wasn't born there?
