I'm not convinced. To my eyes his body is the same as last year and he still runs like a creaky old man. I know he was supposed to have gotten more serious about fitness in the offseason but I don't see any tangible evidence of it. I find that very disappointing.

I want to know specifically what Aram did in the offseason to get in shape, because to me it doesn't look like he did much. I know some people can work out and not get ripped and chiseled looking, and I was hoping Aram fit that category. I noticed he wasn't moving all that well in April and hoped he was just having trouble getting loose in the cold weather, but it's May now. It was 70 degrees today and Aram still ran like a 70 year old man. At this point I'm starting to believe Aram simply didn't work as hard in the offseason as the Cubs led us to believe.

I think it may be time to move ARam in the batting lineup. Put Murton or Barret into cleanup and have the other bat 5th. Bat Aram 6th until he pulls out of it.

If this makes him mad and he exercises his option out of Chicago at the end of the year, then so be it. But I dont know how many other teams would be willing to put up with a .203 average from an $11 million a year player- especially with their other superstar out.

I agree - Aram is a major disapointment to me. I fully expected him to show a little leadership and step it up a little when DLee went down but have seen no signs of that. How long can you go with a cleanup hitter batting less than 200?

The guy will be 28 in June and already he moves like an arthritic geriatric. How fast will he be moving a few years from now? I'm not a big speed advocate, I just want people who run fast enough not to clog the bases, and Aram could easily be the slowest player in baseball before his contract is up.

IMO Aramis needs to take a walk with pride. Right now no one is pitching to him and he is getting himself out.

I'm with you....I think that's his problem.

I don't think he has the mentality or is good enough to carry a team for an extended time. He is a great secondary option to Lee, but he can't do it alone.

the mariners do

sexson, beltre and everett are batting .216, .202 and .225, respectively, w/ 8 combined home runs. everett's /427 slg easily paces the trio. they make, i believe, $29 million this year
