Can anyone remember any team ever having 4 all-star pitchers in their starting rotation? I'm sure it's not unprecedented, but probably pretty rare. With Madduz, Zambrano, Wood, and Prior, we would have four former all-stars in our rotation. Dempster and Williamson would give us 6 former all-star pitchers on the team at once...that's alot to have on one team. If only we could get an all-star year out of all of them during the same year...

I remember way back to 2004: Vasquez, Brown, Mussina, Lieber, Loaiza. Not to mention Gordon and Rivera.

But it sure would be nice to have our pitchers healthy all at once.

I forgot Vasquez made it that year. It's actually kind of funny...he makes the all-star team his first year in NY, at the end of which he was basically run out of town for sucking. His only all-star appearance (thus far) was easily the worst year of his career.

2003 with Prior, Wood, Z all pitching 210+ innings with a combined ERA of about 2.90 and Borowski converting just a shade below 90% of his save opportunities is about as good as things can get pitching wise. I doubt we'll ever see that again.

The 2006 White Sox: Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, Vasquez. Soon to be 5 when Contreras is chosen for the All-Star game this year.

Late 80s Mets: Viola, Gooden, Cone, Fernandez and Darling.

EDIT: Apologies. The above would be the early 90s Mets. Late 80s included Ojeda, not Viola. Not sure if Ojeda was ever an All Star (though he had a sub-3.00 ERA at least a couple of times). The other four definitely were All Stars at least once each.

Not sure if Ojeda was ever an All Star
No, I don't think Augie Doggie was ever an All-Star.

Oh, wait; you mean Bobby Ojeda. He wasn't an All-Star either. :D

Nice.

Poor Bobby was never the same after that nasty accident on the boat with Crews and the other guy (both of whom passed on). I'd be willing to bet the guilt continues.

I remember the incident but forgot Ojeda was the third player involved. The other one killed was Steve Olin, who was the Indians' closer at the time.
