Bases juiced for Kent. 3-2 Astros in 9th, 1 out.

Edit: Sac fly. Tie game. Another blown save for Lidge. :) Nomah has a chance to be a hero again...but no.

Argh, Nomar about 5 feet too short.

Lidge is looking very human these days, or is it just the highlights?

Watching that pinch-runner makes me miss Pagan.

Lidge has looked human all season, he's just been able to wiggle his way out. His lack of control and loss of velocity on his pitches are now catching up to him.

In the Dodgers vs Astros game, they just panned the crowd and showed four of the largest women I've ever seen. I guess things really are bigger in Texas.

I'm not touching that one. :o

Furcal 0-5 tonight, batting .202 for the year. Serves him right.

How much velocity has he lost?

is squeeze play small ball? i say no.

i just say it's stupid.

It is?

Was it stupid tonight with the wind howling in?

Was it stupid when the Cards used it to beat the Cubs in a game last year?

I think you are going to have a pretty hard time with your position.

you're right...your sample size of two is irrefutable.

They irrefutably worked in both instances. Hardly seems "stupid".

But, by all means, go on with your overboard assertions that you apparently think help support your negative views toward anything related towards small ball. Even with the wind knocking everything down tonight...aparently, that factor is irrelevant.

Houston's bullpen is getting used up tonight. Let's hope Marshall does something special in the 5th start of his rookie season.

Apparently, Lyle (younger BIG brother) inherited the same baseball genes at Matty. For those who don't know...Matt is 6'1 220 lbs, his YOUNGER brother, Lyle, is a 6'4 226 lbs first baseman (ok, Matt, why'd you stop growing at 6'1? ) for GT. And considering these numbers are in "platoon situation", and seeing as he is a FRESHMAN, pulling it off, in one of the tougher conference baseball leagues in America, is impressive.

I know this MAY NOT belong in this folder, but considering we have been giving praise to Matty, we might as well give some decent shout out to Lyle.

He's throwing 97, but he has no control, so everyone is sitting on his fastballs. If you know a 97 FB is coming, you can hit it.
