How many did we have last year? Fred? Wins like tonight are HUGE for the morale of this team especially after scuffling for so long despite Z's keeping them in the game. People stepping up, Juan with a huge hit, huge walks in the 8th, Pierre's speed making Cabrera rush his throw home on Arams chopper, Murt's patience and Jones stepping up. These are all positive things that hopefully this team can build on.

I don't like Dusty at all, but it seems like he gets his players not to give up, so maybe he is a good motivator (though a bad manager).

Does anyone else feel that with wins like these, we could just explode on a run when Woody and Prior come back?

they feel good, but I wish we would win about 6 in a row EASILY

my heart cant take this

We should have picked tonight to watch the game

Would have been fun.

We need to hang around until Lee returns, but games like this are huge for the morale. It'd have been an even bigger lift if we did it against the Cardinals w/o Lee.

Who's Derrek Lee? :) :)

A sweep would be HUGE for momentum. I'd love to see the two kids get two wins in a row.

I'll take 2/3. Tommorrow's gonna be tough.

I think we can beat Willis. I also don't think their offense should trouble us save Cabrera.

Me too. The Cubs need to make D-Train work. They need to see a lot of pitches and make Dontrelle rack 'em up early. I don't mind if that means they strike out a bunch early -- just make Dontrelle throw a ton of pitches. The faster the Cubs can get into the bullpen, the better chance we have to win.

I'm not so sure the third game will be easy, Olsen looks tough in the early going. Although, the Marlins' bullpen will probably be needed and that can only be a plus. Hopefully, Gooz pitches well.

Cubs usually do pretty well against Willis. My only worry is whether Marshall will continue to pitch well. Hopefully someone can step up big for the Cubs.

This really is a lovable team. They struggle sometimes but they have a never-say-die attitude and that has contributed to already winning 60 percent of last year's total of comeback wins. Here's hoping they can keep it up.

At Wrigley the Cubs haven't done much against the D-Train. He's 2-0 with a 1.01 ERA in his career. Frankly, I don't care if they beat him or their bullpen. Just win.

I love the Cubs

This is absolutely exciting and comforting that the Cubs have had so many come-from-behind victories. IMO, it is a reflection of the team, and bodes well for the rest of the season.

The key tomorrow will be patience. We need to get DTrain's pitch count up so that we can get to the bullpen. As we saw today, the bullpen of the Marlins is beatable. And as much as I like Nolasco and Welly, they should be hittable as well.

And according to the chart, we NEVER came back last year after 7 innings when trailing by 3 runs or more....

Of course, we never faced such a depleted team last year either...

Gotta disagree there. They seemed like they gave up the last 2 months or so last year and just went through the motions.

We do. He's 2-2 with a 4.64 ERA, .299 BAA against the Cubs overall. But he does have nice stats in Wrigley.

Your recollection, however, might be even more influenced by the beating he took from us in the 03 playoffs.

I thought we had one or two good games against him in the regular season and that screwed up his ERA. I might be wrong though.

I do agree that the Cubs need to work the count against Willis. They proved they can get to the Marlins bullpen and a lack of a left handed reliever isn't going to help them at all.

It was nice to see Pierre's speed come into play there. He did make that a very tough play for Cabrera.

Cabrera should have conceded the run and stepped on 3rd and thrown across to get Aram. I'm sure glad he did'nt though....

Nice win last night. If you can't dominate (and this team is not likely to), tehre's nothing wrong with coming back and winning games. It demoralizes the oppposition and leaves you feeling like you are never out of a game, which is important, IMO.

Also, its VERY important to get fat on teams like FL and the entire NL West. Leaves you with greater room for error against the better teams, most of which happen to be in our division.
