I'm 19 and already pretty sure that I'll die before the Cubs win a Series again. I don't believe in curses, but the Cubs just have had an insane run of bad luck in the last five years (to say nothing of the previous 93) that just never seems to even out in their favor.

But baseball is baseball and I love it.

I think we should all make a MySpace and listen to Simple Plan & Linkin Park while we slit our wrists.

Common, you guys aren't down enough. Try it, it feels better.

I prefer to be in the worst depression that exists while watching replays of the 8th inning of Game 6 on repeat, while listening to "I wanna kill myself" Emo.

I open my eyes

I try to see but I'm blinded by the white light

I can't remember how

I can't remember why

I'm lying here tonight

And I can't stand the pain

And I can't make it go away

No I can't stand the pain

Chorus:

How could this happen to me

I made my mistakes

Got no where to run

The night goes on

As I'm fading away

I'm sick of this life

I just wanna scream

How could this happen to me

Derrek Lee cant slit his. Furcal already did that for him. But let's feel his pain like the people of Opus Dei feel of Jesus by putting a spiked belt on their leg for two hours. *takes knife*

How about listen to "Go Cubs Go" by Steve Goodman?

And take a page from the White Sox and "Don't Stop Believin'"

No, just sadness for me. . .

How about we don't write the season off and instead start directing hostilites at Johnnie B. Jr., the Cardinals, and White Sox

Definitely - b/c its Baker's fault that Lee got hurt.

Perhaps the injuries haven't been Baker's fault. However, poor decisions made in trying to adjust to those injuries are.

But I won't go into those mistakes here. Lots of other threads about those here and elsewhere.

I don't disagree with that general statement, but it does not address my post, which degrades the "blame Dusty", knee-jerk stuff that I dislike. Go ahead and let Dusty have it when he deserves it (like yesterday's double switch), but directing "hostilities" at Baker b/c our best player was involved in a freak accident (thereby severely dimishing our prospects) is dumb.

Direct hostilities at Baker for still refusing to play the kids (Pie, Guzman, Hill) and instead opting for unproductive veterens (Niefi, Mabry, Rusch)

This statement makes no sense and I hardly know where to start.

You want kids to play ok, I guess I can see that if you consider Hill is 26 and the other two have never been in the major leagues, otherwise ok. But you want 2 SP and one OF to start over two bench players, one of which has been great off the bench, that play the infield. BTW you know we have 3 youngs guys playing every day, or every 5th with Sean. Please keep your hatred towards Dusty to logical arguments as stated above.

If the losing gets to you, stop watching the games. Try a day, then a week, then a month. That's what I did last summer after the All-Star break. I still followed the team, but didn't watch or listen. That made the rest of the season easier to take. Now I can watch and not get so worked up.

If my approach strikes some as goofy, so be it. It worked for me.
