From the CBS station in St. Louis

(KMOV) - The last 4,000 seats to be installed at Busch Stadium should be open to fans ahead of schedule.

The Cardinals say those seats in the left field corner should be ready by the end of May.

That’s six weeks ahead of schedule.

Here’s even better news for fans: those tickets are still available.

So far, a date has not been set for when those tickets go on sale.

I assume it's those empty areas down in the left-field corner.

Could come in handy for the early June Cubs/Cards series.

I don't get what needs to be done. From TV they look like they are ready to sit in. Are their still structural issues or something?

I heard from one person that they are awaiting approval from the inspectors or something like that.

Plus the concourse and ramps behind it are not done. It looks like they're also working on stuff like the stands and restrooms.

I'm sure they wouldn't let anyone sit in the seats until they're 100% done with that type of stuff.

It's harder to do that in St. Louis than Chicago.

The inspectors actually have to go to the site and inspect it.

Really slows the process down if you ask me.

Downtown St Louis is like 3 blocks long, I'm sure the inspectors can get there pretty quickly.

Even more seats will be available:

CARDINALS MAKE 65,000 ADDITIONAL TICKETS AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAY

Because construction of Busch Stadium continues to move ahead of schedule, approximately 65,000 tickets will be available for sale online at stlcardinals.com and other Cardinals ticket outlets beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3.

A majority of those tickets will be for the 18 home games scheduled for May 29 through July 2, including Central Division match-ups against the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs...

Supposedly this will finish the stadium off and give them 100% capacity.

Will it just be the left field area or are there other areas for which more seats will be sold?

I dunno, but I got four great seats for the Saturday and Sunday Cubs games in July at 9:00 this morning. All the seats are in the left field "Casino Queen Party Porch," whatever that means.

They don't need to worry about restrooms being done. Most of downtown St Louis is already covered with human waste, the new Busch may as well be.

Based upon my trip last Cubs/Cards series, everything remaining is down in the left field corner and outfield.

IMHO St. Louis has about as many homeless per block as Chicago. You want to talk bad? San Francisco, Atlanta and Portland Oregon.

I'm not referring to homeless. St Louis is by far the dirtiest and ugliest "city" (downtown area) I have ever been to. And I've been to my fair share of them.

Sorry, misunderstood you.

You want bad though...just got back from New Orleans Jazz Fest this last weekend: friggin disaster zone outside French Quarter and Garden District. Sad, very sad.

Sprintsteen and DMB were great though.
