    • Like it or not. He's the fifth starter for the rest of the season.

    • Hendry deals Rusch and $4 mil. to Home Depot for night manager Andy Pratt.

He needs to be traded or sent to the bullpen now. He's done, whatever magic he had is gone. That being said, the Cubs arn't going to straight release him, no way they eat 5 mil, and a trade isnt likely unless he somehow comes back and pitches well for a few starts, of course, then the Cubs won't trade him. What the Cubs will more than likely do is leave him as a starter until Wood or Prior comes back, and even then they might not take him out of the rotation. Remember, Baker does like having a lefty in the rotation, and unless Marshall is absolutely dealing, he is probably going to favor Rusch.

He's just getting too much plate right now and needs to have better control. He has time to step up thanks to the injuries and arb time for the young guys and I'd like to see him do it. If he pitches well enough he can help the Cubs get a decent prospect at the deadline if the Cubs are hitting on all cylinders. Teams always over pay for crafty lefties.

How 'bout Tony Stewart instead of Pratt?

I dunno. Pratt makes the night hours fly by. Stewart just drives really fast.

Perhaps Pratt can make this season not be another long year?
