Cubs win...and how! I-Cubs win 20-0, Pie hits both a 3-run HR and a 3-run triple, and Guzman and Hill each pitched shutouts. Angel did give up 3 hits, though.

CSTV.com[/url]"]The Hawkeyes faced the best pitching they will see all year at Principal Park. I-Cubs started with two of the Cubs top pitching prospects - Angel Guzman, the No. 4 prospect in the organization according to Baseball America, and Rich Hill, who saw action in ten games with Chicago last season. Both Guzman and Hill are candidates for an early season call-up when the Cubs need a fifth-starter.

Travis Sweet, Ben Geelan and Kevin Hoef each picked up hits off Guzman.

The I-Cubs posted three runs off four hits in the bottom of the first, then stretched their lead to 11-0 with a eight-run second. The AAA squad got three-run home runs from Casey McGee and Felix Pie - the Chicago Cubs top-prospect accord>ing to Baseball America.

Hawkeye freshman reliever Wes Freie held the I-Cubs scoreless in the third, but the professionals came back with five more in the fourth behind a three-run triple by Pie. Freie ended the inning by striking out former major leaguer Michael Restovich with the bases loaded.

Where can we find Iowa boxscore?

It's not up on MiLB.com or the Iowa site. Hopefully it'll be available tomorrow.

I don't think this would really matter, but I don't think Iowa pitched their best pitchers. Again, don't think it would have matterd, but Iowa has a game today agains Illinois State and then play the weekend at Penn State.

The I-Cubs took over pitching duties for both teams in the seventh, allowing the Hawkeyes to rest their pitching staff.

The local paper has listed a tentative line-up for Thursday:

1B-Sing

2B- Theroit

SS- Ojeda

3B- McGehee

LF- Restovich

CF- Pie

RF- Coats

C- Soto

P- Ryu

The other starting pitchers are- Guzman, Hill, Valdes, and Walrond.

Relievers- Aardsma, Brownlie, Emanuel, Novoa, O'Malley, Shipman, and Watson.

Yes, it is one of the youngest line-ups I can ever remember. No, what I would call hanger-ons - old-timers jsut waiting for a posssible chance. I think this is part of the rebuilt farm system slowly moving up to where it can contribute on a regular basis into the future. GO CUBS!

Nothing surprising with the Jaxx defense. Infield consists of Moore, Rojas, Patterson and Dopirak. Left to right the outfield is Monanez-Walker-Greenberg. Juan Mateo is the starter.

The game should go 6 innings with Mateo going 4, Piggy going 1 and Holdzkom going 1.

Daytona's lineup:

Spearman at 3B, Simokaitis at SS, Spears at 2B (I think), Craig at 1st, Cullpepper in LF, Fuld in CF, and Harvey in RF. Didn't catch the catcher, but I'd imagine it's Fox. Mark Holliman is on the mound.

The Daytona broadcast is really coming in poorly, and I can't get the DJaxx because I can't put any plugins on the work computer. If anyone has a workaround for that let me know.

I think you have to download their server.
