Some on this board play HS Baseball in the state of IL. I attend as many as games as possible.

It's been a terrible Spring as far as getting in games. I've only attended 3 games so far.

Overall, this is a weak draft class. There won't be a Bowden, Wade Kapteyn RHP of Illiana Christian will be the 1st drafted and the only one likely drafted in the 1st 5 rounds.

I like Joe Benson of Joliet Catholic more, but he has a full ride FB scholly to Purdue and is expected to be a more difficult sign than Kapteyn who has committed to nearby Evansville.

If you have any questions on various teams or players, i'll try to answer them.

I thought you were a coach, UK, no?

Cuse is the only coach that I know of that is on here...though I could be wrong.

I am.

Sorry, I guess I was wrong

I finally got to watch the very talented Benet Academy, which features several of the top players in state, including Miss. St. bound Connor Powers as well as Villanova bound Chris Pack. They won the Schaumburg Flyers HS tourney at Alexian Field over Carmel.

Still haven't seen a pitcher hit 90 yet, which will hopefully happen soon.

You went to go see Benet and didn't let me know?!? I'm disappointed.

I also watched Naperville Central although I missed their two best player (Bates and Kaminska sp?). :)

I had no idea the Academy meant some thing to you. I'll watch them again when they come to Mundelein with their rematch against Carmel.

Well, the only thing they mean to me is that they're about 2 1/2 blocks from my house. Last night I didn't consider the possibility that you saw them on the road.

One of the best SS in the '07 class, needs to get stronger, still can hit line drives, one of the better defenders with an avg. arm.

Does he pitch ever?

Zach McAllister from Chillicothe IVC may go as high as round 2. A terrific pitcher who hits 92-94 mph consistently. Edited by Peoriaman

Monco, you familiar with Even?

I bowled with him for a few years. He is tremendously gifted and was a really quick learner to the game. Haven't kept up with him in a year or so, but I'm still interested to see where he goes after 07.

Yes.My son and him played on the same team when he was 10. Saw him play once last year. I'll probably go to some playoffs if possible.

McAllister from Chilicothe IVC is pitching Friday night in Joliet at the IHSA finals. He can really bring it and is moving up the draft boards.
