Have you had a chance to watch Marshall and Guzman on WGN this spring? I'd love to hear what you thought of their performances and what pitches, if any, you thought were off a bit. Ryu, too.

I have completely enjoyed watching both of these guys pitch. At this point Marshall is a little sharper than Guzman but not by much. I think the reason why Sean has the inside track on the 5th spot in the rotation is because he has thrown more strikes than his competition.

Having said that, Sean still has one more start and he needs to continue what he has done this spring. A bad start could move him back to West Tenn.

Yeah. Watching them has been the highlight of the spring so far. If Jerome Williams struggles today and Marshall can have even a respectable game Friday night (also on WGN, thankfully), it sounds like the 4th starting spot will be Sean's. Quite a surprise.

And if Guzman can make a couple of good starts at AAA, he may very well join Marshall in the rotation for a couple of starts until Wood is activated. That would be something. Angel threw a couple of huge 12-6 curves in his last outing that nearly made me fall out of my chair. It was also encouraging because he should have only walked a single batter in his four innings (the first guy he faced). There was a 2-2 pitch fastball on the outside corner that even Hendry couldn't believe called a ball. That led to his only other walk. If he's regaining his control which eluded him this fall and earlier in the spring, things should look real good for him this season.

Guzzy is getting there.. when he gets back to his 2002 form, there are going to be ALOT of Cubs fans salivating when they see this kid pitch.

Now this is my personal opinion and you folks can call me crazy, but when Guzman is 100% he is the best pitcher the Cubs have in their entire organization (that's right.. I said better than Zambrano, Prior, Wood and anyone else in the Cubs organization).

I missed the beginning but I got it on just in time to hear a nice review of Tim Conway on the Carol Burnett Show.

I tuned in to the show and the subject was fishing. Then someone called in an just kept rambling. They were getting nowhere and it did not interest me so I turned it off. I don't think I heard Ron say anything.

I'd still like to know if that was Ron screaming like Chris Farley.

I did appreciate the reference to Bucksnort, though.

Yeah that was me.. I think everybody needs some Matt Foley in their life.

ha ha, very good impression. I'd like to request more Harry Caray and Matt Foley in 2006.

I am not sure Ron is not Harry Caray reincarnated. With those big glasses that he wears during the seventh inning stretch and with the Caray voice, who’s to say? I do not remember if Ron is on the air when he does this but he should be so everyone would know when to tune in just to hear it. It is worth it.

Unfortunately you have to be there in person to hear the stretch but I agree, it's quality stuff.

Man wearing Harry Caray glasses robs bank

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. A bank robber in suburban Chicago is being called the "Harry Caray bandit."

Police in Palos Heights say the man who robbed a bank on Wednesday wore big glasses reminiscent of the ones worn by the late Chicago Cubs announcer.

If I had my way, there would be plenty of bacon in the Diamond Jaxx concession stands.. lol

Bacon makes the world a better place. :D

Walker should be a lot of fun for you to watch Ron! He's arguably the fastest player in the Cubs' system.

With the Rally Ham having piglets down there, Ron's gotta do what he can to keep them fed.....

BTW, gold star for you!
