No guns here, but Marshall looks good. In the first, he threw 17 pitches, 12 strikes.

It sounds like it. There were reports that some in the organization had Marshall ahead of Hill even before ST. Of course Hill has been pretty mediocre so far while Marshall's stock is rising.

It sounds like it. There were reports that some in the organization had Marshall ahead of Hill even before ST. Of course Hill has been pretty mediocre so far while Marshall's stock is rising.

 

With Hill, it's all about command. After walks in his first inning, he had a very good outing yesterday. 3 IP, 0 hits, 5 k's. Apparently he controlled his curve and fastball better. If he does that as the Spring goes on, it's going to be an interesting race b/n Guzman, Marshall, and Hill (and maybe even Ryu, who has been pitching well).

FTR, Sean Marshall has 4 starts above Daytona. Rich Hill completely dominated AA and AAA last year for 20 starts.
