How is Angel doing this spring? has anyone seen him pitch?

He's had a mixed Spring but he will have the opportunity to redeem himself as he is starting tomorrow's game against the DBacks.

I saw him early in Spring Training against the A's, and he looked very good. He had great stuff and velocity but was a little wild at times. Overall, he had a good outing.

I was reading in Sporting News that he's hitting between 93-96mph. Sounds like they're going to start him in AA, but he could be called up mid-season from their reports.

Why not AAA?

Well, if there are any lingering concerns about his shoulder stiffening up (or forearm or any other body part), he certainly better off starting in the southern league than in Iowa.

I want to see him in the rotation and get a 2 or 3 start audition while we wait for someone to come back.

Zambrano

Rusch

Maddux

Williams

Guzman (called up after we need the 5th starter)

By that logic, then why not Daytona?

AA gives a better combination of weather and competition.

Fleita was supposedly pretty much set on Guzman starting the season at AAA before ST started. I'm guessing they'll be satisfied with his health enough to the point where they won't feel it's necessary for him to start off in warmer weather.
