I find it funny and sad (mostly sad) that the Tribune tried to make it seem like tempers were getting out of hand yesterday b/c it was a Cubs/Sox game. They had a huge picture of Thome hitting the deck in the paper today. I'm sure other media sources were doing the same thing, too.

Of course, they probably didn't mention that Hairston got drilled in the shoulder while Thome fell down on a pitch that was closer to the strike zone than it was to him. That ball was what, four inches inside?

Pitchers aren't allowed to throw 4 inches inside anymore.

Apparently I was on WGN when Aramis hit his first-inning homer. I was scampering towards the ball and it landed about 10' from me.

Rusch was embarassingly bad. A few Cubs fans behind me actually hoped he got hurt when the liner hit him. Pierre impressed me. Jae-Kuk Ryu looked impressive, even when he gave up some hard hit balls in his second inning of work.

Rusch looks sad (maybe he knows he's not going to have a good game):

Late in the game, a bunch of Cubs players ran by the warning track. I waved to Ronny Cedeno and he said "what's up" back to me. Also talked to Sam Fuld for a bit between innings.

Ryu (apparently I thought he was faster than he really is):

I felt so gross being surrounded by so many White Sox and Illini fans. :P
