this is kind of a stretch for the baseball discussion and I've already posted this in the social lounge but I figure it would get more traffice over here.

I'm thinking about buying a slingbox so I can watch the cubs games at work on my computer without having to purchase MLBTV. Does anyone have one already and does it work well? Is the stream slow or delayed?

Meh, it's ok...it will get the job done, nice thing is you can watch more than just the Cubs games. Record to your home TiVo box etc...all while at the office etc.

One problem I can't stand is it only supports 480i ... so, if you have a HDTV that pumps out 1080i/p you won't get a signal. You will have to convert your TV to broadcast in 480i to recieve the sig.

Oh, gotta hook it up via S-Video and have the latest ver. of WMV installed.

I've not installed Orb yet, but let me ask a hypothetical:

Using Orb, you can stream to the web from your home television... So if, hypothetically, your TV has Comcast Sports Chicago and FSN Chicago, and you've installed Orb... you could help a brother out who DOESN'T have those stations, yet lives inside the massive black-out area for MLB.tv? Am I right or am I right?

I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

Or if you have family in say, California...

There are probably some legal issues using this device. "This broadcast cannot be rebroadcast with out the consent of the Chicago Cubs."
