Read Juicing The Game by Howard Bryant

This is self explanatory. This is an excellent book that does not just point the finger at the players but at all of baseball. It also discusses other factors other than steroids that could have caused the power boom.

 

Also, for anybody that has read the book already, post your thoughts on the book.

I went into it thinking it was going to be solely about the players taking steroids but Bryant goes into a lot of detail about how baseball operates. I was surprised how much depth he went into.

How far baseball has fallen.....from Sosa and McGwire saving baseball in 98 to Perez saving the Cubs in 2005.

Read it. Liked it. Its a nice summary of the history behind steroid use in baseball, but boy does it feel old in light of recent events.

The book did a great job of dispalying the cultures of power , that led to the look the other way mentality that strengthend the use of roids. Media, baseball execs, players, union all had their hand in the mess. Good read. Coach L
