Clearly, the Astros are pinning their hopes on Clemens' return. Other than adding Preston Wilson, the Astros, who were 11th in the National League in runs, haven't upgraded their offense. The Cardinals are the logical favorites in the Central Division, but second place could be anyone's prize, including the Cubs, who've added Juan Pierre and Jacque Jones as their Nos. 1 and 2 hitters. The two top spots in Chicago's lineup scored 173 runs last year, third fewest in the National League.

I'm pretty sure he's just plain wrong. I'm pretty sure Dusty has penciled in Jones as #5 (sad as that may be) and if Walker (who is the "front runner" for 2B) is playing, he'll bat #2, almost certainly.

I bet Hairston would bat up there too... Really doubt that Jones will hit #2, even with Dusty-logic.

I'm hoping that Ronny Cedeno performs well enough to bat 2nd later in the season. If he does then having Pierre and Cedeno 1-2 in front of Lee and Ramirez could really help the top of the lineup, not to mention Lee's and Ramirez's RBI totals. Instead of them launching solo shots, they'll be launching two and three run shots.
