Kind of pointless if you ask me this early in the season. Brewers at number 12 huh. Girardi has a rule where the guys can't grow facial hair? I guess he is trying to get on the bad side of the players sicne he is going to come to Chicago next season as manager now that he knows he can't win after the Marlins fire sale.

Best offseason news: A $13.5 million bleacher expansion project will add about 1,800 seats to Wrigley Field. Means even more folks calling in sick on Fridays.

As with so many other Cubs' quotes, this is hillarious and heartbreaking at the same time.

They've got the White Sox and Indians both ranked top 5. That means they're saying the AL Central is the best division in baseball. If that's true (and I'll believe the Indians when I see them in October), then that's a hell of a turnaround. 2 years from worst division to best? Who said baseball doesn't have parity? Well----actually I said it

On the Cubs: 17th is about right. I would have picked them somewhere middle of the pack, probably 15th. I don't agree we have had no good offeseason acquisitions though. Hendry clearly strengthened the bullpen, albeit at a high price. But hey----it's media blitz 2006. Don't bother with facts, just come up with a witty one-liner

I've said it before, but the media focuses entirely too much on offseason signings. It obviously gets boring focusing on health issues year in and year out, but that has more to do with it IMO.

Isn't that stupid that they pick on Girardi for not allowing facial hair, but it's no biggie that Torre does the same thing?

Don't you know that espn writers get fined for saying anything negative about the Yankees? :-&
