Schneider did lead the NL by throwing out 38% of base runners, but a line of .256/10/44 for a 29-year old hardly warrants this kind of contract.

I know there are at least several people that are Schneider fans here, but I've never really been that enamored with him. His defense is great, and his offense was better away from RFK last year, but he's average offensively on the whole.

Yeah 4 years is kinda scary. He's not that good now, offensively, I wouldn't want to see what a decline might look like.

Schneider's worth it. I don't know about in that park, but I think he could be a solid hitter still. He is a catcher so maybe his bat will come around late. It looked like it was the 2nd half of 04.
