just another case of "i'm not good enough to play for the USA but I still wanna play in the WBC."

um... am I allowed to say Jackass on these forums?

Cuz you're a jackass, dude.

No. This is not allowed. Do not do it again or you will have to do it somewhere else.

I think that's a pretty arrogant thing to say. Who are we to judge which country he identifies himself with more? Just because he's not fresh off the boat doesn't mean he has to play for the US.

I made the Swiss/German/Scottish team. Wish me luck.

BTW - I'm having a hard time deciding which team to play for.

Swiss - They will probably forfeit before the game in order to stay neutral, but I'd probably get paid a lot.

German - My best bet if I want to win anything. Their mechanical determination would surely grind it's way into the medal round.

Scotch - Won't win, won't get paid, but it'd be a whole lot more fun than the other two.

Or just because he's never crossed the border?

Doesn't speak spanish?

I want to play for ethiopia. I hear I had some ancestors there a few thousand generations ago and as far as I know they don't have a 3b and could use a reliever

Unfortunately the rules say he will be able to play for them. Personally I think you should at least have to live in the country before playing for them.

Nomar's mexican and I'm an arrogant jack ass.

I don't have a thing against Nomar. I just don't understand some of these guys who were born in the good ol' USA but have decided to play for another country.

I just find it odd that two guys --- Nomar and Piazza -- have chosen foreign teams. Neither of those guys would have been chosen to play for the USA.

I'd be hacked if I were the guy on Mexico or Italy's team that has to sit because of these guys.

Maybe Norway has a team. I could play 3rd base. I can't hit for crap, though.

I'll join that team! I can play second . . . and also can't hit for crap. Can the WBC go 16-inch softball for us?

I'm a mutt. If Norway doesn't have a team I could try Germany, Denmark, Sweeden, Ireland, or Slovakia. There's another one in there, but I forget what it is.
