Is there any lingering doubt that Phil Rogers is an anti-Cub tool? In today's valentine to the White Sox and Ken Williams, Rogers lavishes praise upon them for a good prospect for Vasquez while admitting he has criticized the Cubs for even thinking about doing the same. The difference: "I can't fault the White Sox for dealing him to get Vazquez." But he can fault the Cubs.

 

Other gems: Mackowiak is "arguably the best bench player in the majors." Paying Konerko $60 million is a resonable price. Give me a break.

 

Man, I know most reporters are front-running bootlickers of who ever is on top at a moment in time, but this guy is taking it to a new level.

Rogers is probably an anti-Cub honk, but he's right, Konerko is being had for a very reasonable price.

I wouldn't mind him either, but the best in the majors. I don't know. On second thought, he must be because the genius traded for him.

You're comparing Konerko's value to someone who is vastly overpaid and still probably more valuable to a team because of the position he plays and the fact that he's a good lead-off hitter. 12 mil a year for Konerko is not a very reasonable price in my book.

There's more to a contract than just average yearly value. I don't understand why people refuse to acknowledge this fact.
