Mets signed first baseman Juan Tejeda to a minor league contract.

Tejeda is just turning 24 in January, so he remains rather intriguing. Since he doesn't figure to add a lot of power and he's shaky defensively, he's unlikely to become a major league regular. Still, he might get a look from some team someday.

Plus, that guy's Tejeda, not Tejada.

 

It's like Harry Caray talking about a former Cardinal OF/1B - "George Hendrick - no relation to Ellie Hendricks.".
