Any team would be crazy to give Webb that. I don't think the guy deserves more than 1 mil plus incentives.

Contract year. He did well for himself, he was able to fool Hendry into giving him an undeserved 8 year deal. He's been on the decline for 2 years already. Imagine how bad he will be in the future. -
10 mil is more money I thought Pena would get but I like the fact that we have him signed to only 1 year. If we miss out on the playoffs he could also be a nice trading chip for us. He also has potential to have better number than last year, I like it.

LOL! You would think other GMs would learn from Hendry's mistakes. And here I thought giving longterm contracts to 30+ year olds was over. -
The simple fact that they are keeping Hendry on board makes year one of the new regime a failure.

I would pay money to hear a tape of this. When B+B find them selves on the right side of an argument with morons, it's just classic radio. It's pretty much the opposite of Dave Kaplan having an argumetn with callers. Because he's usally the one with the ridiculous argument. Listen to it for free. I understand it is his right to block trades but I don't have to like it. I really hope they sit him for the rest of the season and try out other players there. I don't see the Cubs resigning him anyway.

Cook makes absolutely no sense for the Cubs. I don't see that happening. It's pretty obvious the Cubs are looking to reduce their payroll not trade essentially a one year player in Theriot for Cook's horrible contract.
