Because he didn't suck last year or his first two years with the Cubs? I'm not saying that means he'll be any good this year, and I don't think he will be, but the way you presented your point was odd, as if he must have sucked simply because he was with the Cubs. He was horrible the last year with the cubs and there's probably a reason he was DFA's by the DBacks. IMO the Cubs are wasting their time bringing him back to the team. You want horrible, bring up the Shark, not a 36 year old reliever with nothing left. Yeah, but your main reasoning for not wanting him back was his last year with the Cubs. That wasn't last season. His last season he actually seemed to be a serviceable reliever again. He's been that or much better 5 of the last 6 seasons. Again, I really didn't want him signed back and I'm never a fan of these scrap heap attempts, but this is pretty far from being the end of the world. If he doesn't look much better than what he was showing with the Diamondbacks you won't see him with the Cubs much at all. My main reasoning is two fold. He sucked the last year he pitched for us and he's sucked this year. Someone also mentioned that he was lucky last year for the Giants. I understand it's a low risk move but I feel the Cubs are wasting their time bringing him in.
