  1. Friggin' Macias and his .296 average are killing this team! Why is he even on the roster? Nevermind that he has been nothing short of atrocious in CF, and has cost us runs. But he has a .296 AVG! I hate Macias, too, but you're going way overboard. There's a reason why he's our third string CF. That's like getting mad at a 3rd string QB having a bad game. I'd compare it more to getting mad at the 3rd String QB while the 2nd string sits on the bench. Who's the second string CF? I'm glad Burnitz finally got a night off. Burnitz should have sat a game in Philly, at the least. Time for Lee to sit at least one game. Hes slumping.
  2. Basketball injury when you go on the DL haha :)
  3. Yeah, I've been wanting Williamson way back when he was the Reds closer. He is an awesome pitcher and I'm glad we have him.
  4. I thought that bobble-head doll was Macias for a second!
  5. i'll be rooting for the Bears. At least you have a distraction. I don't really care about football, so I'm on this ship until it sinks. I hear ya.
  6. What are they saying? I don't have the radio on. They said that our entire offense was slumping together. And that we couldnt even score runs against below avg pitchers. They also mentioned that our defense has been horrible and if we have another losing streak like this one "That will be the end of the 2005 Chicago Cubs" (Pat). "another" streak? I would argue this is the end of the 2005 Chicago Cubs. And how is what you said any different than what Pat and Ron were quoted as saying? I thought the 8 games streak was nearly the end, but then they won quite a few. This looks almost worse than that streak, IMO. We are losing to worse teams, The offense is gone, the defense is gone, Dusty's managing is worse than ever, the fundamentals are as bad as I've ever seen, Derrek is hurting....it's a complete mess. Come on, did you guys actually think we would get swept by the Mets? I sure as heck didn't. THings are that bad right now. Isn't that pretty much what I said?

  8. It has to be and if it isn't the match will light soon enough. I'm pretty certain the Cubs fans will boo the heck out of this team next time they come home. I think for the most part a lot of already know that Baker should be done with.

  10. Wow, Pat and Ron really giving it to the Cubs, but there are saying nothing that isn't true.
  11. See ya buddy. I know where you're coming from
  12. Ringling Brothers Barnun and Bailey Chicago Cubs.
  13. He's been huffing and sighing all game. I feel bad for the guy. Actually, I feel bad for all Cubs fans. We've had it bad for years now.
  14. I wouldnt go so far as to say Lawton's defensive lapse is due to Dusty. Lawton has never been a good defensive player. The Cubs knew what they were getting into when they picked him up. Unfortunately, the Lawton trade is looking more and more like a mistake. Lawton is unlikely to be a Cub in 2006, while Gerut would have been a nice player to have next year, especially as a fourth outfielder and a left-handed bat off of the bench (even with his arbitration increased salary). The only bright side to all of this is the possibility that Lawton nets us a compensatory draft pick as a free agent. I've been saying that and only have been criticized when I have pointed that out. Not that Lawton is a bad player it's just that he wont make a difference. and what available player would have? I was against making a trade unless it was somebody we could use for the future because IMO even if we traded for Dunn we still wouldnt make the playoffs. In other words there was no point to make a trade just to make it like we did anyways.
  15. Give a break, we can't blame Baker for everything. Zambrano losing his temper and refusing to go back out is his own problem. Aramis committed a huge error which lead to 2 runs then Carlos' own lack of control coupled with poor defense behind him lead to 2 additional runs. Good pitchers are able to get out of jams despite the defense. The papers are going to BLAST Zambrnao for this. Credit ESPN's camera's for being Johnny on the spot! I'm not giving breaks to anybody. Dusty is a lousy manager and it shows. NOBODY wants to play for him besides Neifi, Macias and Holla. He needs to go.

  17. If Prior does it oo I'm sure that will be the end of Baker.
  18. I hope he flipped Baker right before he left. I can;t say that I blame him. This is Bakers doing.
  19. We need them for the stretch dude, there's nothing to be worried about. I think Dusty has a future as one of these new bleeding heart educators who care more about not hurting a kid's feelings than preparing them for the world. It's not Little League anymore. It's time to get rid of Baker. Seriously, I dont think any other oganization would tolerate Dusty as long as this one has.
