  1. I'm pretty sure he signed a two year deal this past offseason. I dont care I still dont want him here.
  2. Someone in the transactions forum one day said Jarrod Washburn was all smoke and mirrors and I've flet the same is true about Rusch. It appears last year was a fluke because this is the real Glendon Rusch, his numbers this year mirror his career numbers. I will be pissed if he is still a cub come next season.
  3. for the same reason that murton and cedeno are riding pine, the same reason that nefi is in the 2 spot....anyone care to venture a guess at that reason?Dusty is an idiot, and I blame Hendry for him still being here.
  4. Looking from the box scores it looks like Rusch was indeed a one hit wonder and IMO should not be on this team next year. He blows.
  5. I really appreciate his hustle and his attitude. Tracking down balls in the OF, hitting his cutoff man, hustling down the line on ground balls, and not blaming everyone else when things aren't going well are examples of what he has brought to this team. And yet, overall, his presence in the middle of the order on a daily basis has been a disaster, and they absolutely must replace him in the offseason. Agreed.
  6. They are "hoping" that they he will be ready by next season.
  7. You are right. I've said it before that when it comes to FA Hendry doesn't cough up the money for the big names. The only FA he has spent top dollar on are for setup men and that hasnt worked out so well. This year will be critical to see what steps they take to improving the team.
  8. Now THAT is funny!
  9. If people are so concerned about Raingers cheating at Arlington all they have to do is change the signs. Buerhle should have kept his mouth shut when he called out Maddux and again now.
  10. If Hendry doesnt revamp the entire OF, and sign at least one legitimate arm to the bullpen and possibly sign one new starter things will not be good. I do believe that Murton can take over one of the OF spots and I would also like to see Cedeno at SS, but We need a legitimate CF who can actually play in the majors and another legitimate bat though trade)Giles is an option as well). As far as I'm concerned Corey is a bust. Time to cut bait and move on. Aside from his speed he does nothing for us offensively and we can't have that anymore. All players on the team should go back to fundamentals school and also learn how to take a walk and minimize the Ks. We really do need high OBP low K guys on our roster. It's damn frustrating.
  11. All I know is if we dont make any significant moves we will be in the same situation tomorrow as we are today. We also cant count on anybody ebing healthy. Right now a lot of our players have a bad track record.
  12. It looks like Cedeno did pretty good yesterday.
  13. OMG, I rather not see Burnitz here next year. He was OK for us but an upgrade is necessary. Here we go again...
  14. 22, as of August 22nd. That's a phenomenal total for a pitcher in this day and age with a month left to go. Much respect to Clemens but I hope he doesnt get the CY Young again. It's getting redundant. :)
  15. What do you expect from a Cardinals fan.
  16. So does superman :) Unfortunately, superman doesn't play in the Cubs' system. So then who is Batman who plays in our system?
  17. That's encouraging if they are less than a year away.
  18. The Cubs sure do seem to have a lot of them. I thought the idea was to trade for postion players with all this young pitching since the Cubs don't prefer to draft them. You bring up a good point. All those pitching prospects we brought up this year havent done squat. It also doesnt seem like we have a power OF ready to come up for us. I think Harvey might be our only power OFer we have and hes not even close to ready. Hopefully the power Pie displayed in the first half will carry over for a full season. Sing is also a power hitter and his future (with the Cubs) would be as an OF. Yeah, but are they ready to come up any time soon? Still that leaves only 3 power hitting players. I dont know that just doesnt sound like too many players with power for an entire organization.
  19. Seriously, I cant blame Dusty for Patterson's struggles. The guy just doesnt get it. I hope he's gone.
  20. Ohman & Novoa beg to differ. Not to mention Wuertz before he got overworked. I'll give you Ohman but Novoa has been up and down and he came from the Tigers. Wuertz, it's probably overwork but he is not pitching too well right now. I can't believe I forgot about Ohman. I think he's a good pitcher.
  21. Again though how is it obvious that the youngsters would have been better? Was Choi a better option, was Hill, was Brown? Who has the better numbers this year? It sure as heck isnt Holla and Perez. So whats your point? Look at my entire post its not just about playing the kids. There's more to the madness of Dusty Baker.
